This new built house is a response to an open brief and a deep understanding of the local environment and the unique quality of light and colour the west of Ireland offers.The house is L-shaped and open plan broken only by fireplaces and stairs and with views to the private courtyard to the rear and more controlled apertures to the street.

The  interior space explores the varying light conditions while the exterior tweaks the local vernacular to provide a dwelling that sits in its context. Part of the living space opens into a triple height space which allows the living space to be illuminated from above to capture the dramatic changes in light.
