Steel House in Eastbourne is a Grade II listed building of local historical interest. The exterior of the building reads as a historic record of additions and alterations. Our brief was to create an open plan office while retaining the feel of the original building.

Most of the internal features had already been lost and our approach was to reveal the historic elements which were hidden. We exposed the wall studs while removing the walls themselves to create a light and airy office that looks modern while still acting as an interesting reminder of the history of the building.
